Stockli have updated the Edge FT touring skis for 2026, with new lengths, a new construction, a slightly narrower sidecut and moderate tip and tail rocker. Weight stays about the same at almost 3 kg a pair, and these are still touring skis with the emphasis on the downhill, providing a high level of dowhill performance for a touring ski. What's new though is the Edge FT's character, with the double rocker giving a more playful ski that's more fun, more agile in deeper snow and generally more versatile in all backcountry conditions. Featuring a lightweight Touring Core crafted from premium European paulownia and birch, as it's name implies the Edge FT ensures dependable edge hold, allowing skiers to tackle challenging conditions with confidence. The moderate Tip Powder Rocker increases flotation and stability in soft snow, making it easier to ski powder while the subtle tail rocker enhances manoeuvrability, allowing skiers to make quick turns and adjustments without sacrificing stability or control.
Stockli's Vario sizing structure increases ski width with length so that all lengths of the Edge FT have the same performance attributes, ensuring that skiers can maintain optimal control regardless of their size or skill level. The Stockli Edge FT is ideal for skier tourers wanting the best possible downhill performance from a touring ski. The Edge FT is perfect for those who appreciate the high standards set by the Stöckli Stormrider series and whether navigating through deep powder or skiing harder snow conditions, the Stockli Edge FT delivers a smooth and reliable ride that instils confidence in every turn.
Core: Lightweight European paulownia with birch inserts in the binding mounting zone. Touring Tail: The Edge FT has a notch in the tail to facilitate skin attachment, reduce weight and give the ski tail a slightly softer flex. Thin Glass Laminate: This fibreglass laminate is 25% lighter than traditional fibres, while offering the same amount of flex. Skis with this laminate are lighter, so ideal for touring. Solid Metal Light Eges: The same robust edge as the Solid Metal Edge, but with a modified die-cut so that the edge is inserted less deeply into the ski, saving weight. Polywall Technology: Polywall sidewalls are slightky softer and more elastic than phenolic sidewalls and offer high impact resistance as well as improved damping.Titec Evo: A special powder coating on the titanal topsheet reduces snow accumulation, gives enhanced scratch resistance and reduces weight since the graphics are printed directly on the titanal. Big Powder Rocker: A small amount of powder rocker (20 mm height, 60 mm length) provides lift in soft snow, making the skis more agile in powder and spring snow. Tail Rocker: A longer tail rocker with a flatter radius, decreasing edge contact ength and making the ski more playful. Vario Side Cut: Ski sidecut changes with the ski length, with longer skis having wider shapes and more contact with the snow, allowing a harmonius relationship with the skier's height and weight. This allows all ski lengths to have the same ski-width to ski-length ratio, and so optimises performance for all skiers, whatever their size. Freeride Tip Technology: Stockli use light yet stiff insert material at the tip to create a shovel that's more stable and less jittery with a lower swing weight to improve agility, also helping generate more lift in deep snow.
