Black Crows deserve credit for taking the efffort to produce performance skis designed specifically for niche ski markets and the Black Crows Solis is a good example.
The Solis is designed specifically for skiing the very steepest slopes. The result of long development in the mountains, the Solis combines a homogeneous flex throughout the ski, a fairly firm tip and tail and a long radius in the tip lift.
Updated last season with a slightly lighter build, the Solis has a poplar / paulownia core with carbon and glass fibres throughout the length of the ski to provide excellent torsional stiffness and the edge grip you need on steep slopes.
This combination provides an exclusive pivot, avoids oversteering in steep passages and provides a secure heel when the pack is heavily loaded.
The Solis also benefits from a reinforced edge and a very good grip thanks to a titanal plate under the foot.
