Blending freeride energy with precise all-mountain control, the 2026 DPS Kaizen 105 sets a new standard for high-performance, directional skis. With its 105 mm waist and refined construction, it delivers a smooth and intuitive ride in soft snow, powder, and varied terrain, while remaining impressively composed on firm pistes. DPS aimed to create a ski with a different character from their classic shapes found in the Kaizen 100 and Kaizen 112. The 105 features a longer turn radius for sweeping turns, a longer effective edge for improved hold and stability across all snow conditions, and reduced rocker and tip taper for a more engaged feel at the tips and tails.
Handmade in Salt Lake City, Utah, the Kaizen 105 features DPS’s new Split Core construction, combining horizontally laminated poplar and vibration-damping ash with aerospace-grade carbon fibre laminates. This blend produces a lively yet stable ski that’s responsive underfoot, with excellent edge grip and torsional stiffness when conditions become challenging. The ski’s profile includes moderate tip and tail rocker, 60% camber underfoot, and an 18-metre turn radius—ideal for skiers who prefer to stay centred and fluid through turns, rather than driving aggressively from the front.
While the Kaizen 105 excels in soft snow, its standout quality is its unique ability to carve clean arcs even in powder—a rare trait in this category. It floats effortlessly thanks to its generous tip (133 mm) and lightly tapered tail (117 mm), yet confidently links turns with precision. On firmer or mixed snow, it maintains a planted, damp feel, aided by titanal binding reinforcements and a carefully tuned flex that minimises chatter.
Sustainability is also a KPI at DPS and these skis are built with their algae-based “Algal Wall” sidewalls—63% bio-based polyurethane developed with WNDR Alpine—as well as recycled materials in the base and topsheet. Weighing in at just 3.40 kg per pair (171 cm), the Kaizen 105 is light enough for hybrid or tech bindings, though many will opt for a robust alpine setup to fully exploit its downhill capabilities.
For strong intermediate to expert skiers seeking a versatile, surfy, and highly refined all-mountain ski that performs equally well on powder days and wind-affected pistes, the Kaizen 105 offers a uniquely premium feel—both in build and performance. It’s a confident, capable, and compelling choice for those who demand one ski to do it all—with style, substance, and meticulous attention to detail.
