The Kuluar 10 Superlight bridges the gap between the excellent Trofeo and Crest bindings ATK introduced the Kuluar 10 Superlight last winter and this binding is the same but with a lower lateral release range of 4-10, which is more than sufficient for most tourers. The Kuluar 10 Superlight shares the same minimalist toepiece as the Trofeo and has a lightweight heel unit offering adjustable lateral release with a range of 4-10 (lateral release is not adjustable on the Trofeo bindings). The heel unit of the Kuluar 10 Superlight sits on the R01 adjustment plate which gives 30 mm boot sole length adjustment. Weighing only 180 g per ski, the Kuluar 10 Superlight fills the niche between the Trofeo Plus (170 g) and the Haute Route Plus (200 g) bindings. Like the Trofeo bindings, the Kuluar 10 Superlight does not have the Elastic Response System in the heel unit which helps compensate for the ski flex and prevent ski compression affecting boot release. Supplied complete with ATK's excellent Kevlar Core leash, the Kuluar 10 Superlight will appeal to gram counting skiers looking for the efficiency of the Trofeo bindings with the added security of adjustable lateral release.
