The Kingpin M-Werks 12 is Marker's top of the line carbon reinforced free rando binding.
The Kingpin M-Werks shares the same light yet super rigid toe unit used on the Alpinist and (regular) Kingpin bindings. This toe piece was originally developed for the Kingpin M-Werks, and Marker found it worked so well it's been used for the other Marker tech bindings. The carbon composite baseplate is both extremely light and stiff, giving the toepiece excellent torsional rigidity. Anti-ice pads help prevent snow accumulation and the elastomer "towers" make step-in much easier.
The heel unit and sliding plate of the Kingpin M-Werks are also reinforced with carbon and the feather-fin shaped ski/walk lever. The XXL Power Transmitter heel unit features two rotating wheels that lock around the boot heel, absorbing shocks and providing alpine levels of control and power transmission to the ski. These wheel automatically perfectly centre the boot in the binding and minimize resistance when releasing.
Weighing in at 70 g lighter than the regular Kingpins, the Kingpin M-Werks showcases Marker's ability to produce superb free rando bindings providing a high level of control, thanks to the rigid toepiece and the alpine-style heel units.
Climbing Aids: Two positions with 7° and 13° lift, easily accessed with the ski pole Release: Vertical and lateral release adjustment in the heel for improved release functionality. Toe unit: Carbon fibre rienforced baseplate for improved stiffness.
